BREAKFAST MENU

Fruit juices, cereals, homemade granola,
seasonal fresh fruits and yoghurt.
Home-baked breads for toast.
Homemade jams and marmalade.

Northumbrian Breakfast
Sausage, Bacon, Black pudding, grilled tomatoes, 
mushrooms and a choice of eggs (poached,
fried or scrambled)

Local Smoked Salmon and Scrambled Eggs
Served on a potato rosti

Local kippers
Lightly steamed with grilled tomatoes


Cheese and mushroom frittata
Made with local Doddingtons cheese.

Homemade baked beans
Made with pancetta lardons and served on a slice of toast with black pudding and a poached egg (a vegetarian version is available)

Breakfast is an important feature at Market Cross.

With an AA Breakfast Award Amanda and Steve offer traditional breakfast fayre as well as a few things you may not see anywhere else.

The extensive menu includes vegetarian choices, healthy options and a choice of delicious breakfast dishes that reflect the quality and diversity of local produce.

Having worked in the cookery school at Swinton Park Hotel and later at Middleton Lodge, Amanda is an experienced chef, and you can be sure of beautifully cooked breakfast made with local and seasonal ingredients.

Dinner at Market Cross

Having also gained an AA Dinner Award we now offer evening meals to our guests. Simply ask to see our menus when booking and we will send them via email. They do need to be ordered 48 hours in advance and we unfortunately cannot cater for multiple menus.


Special diets

Guests with special dietary needs can easily be catered for - just ask Amanda or Steve.

Breakfast is served

... between 8.00 am and 9.00 am but should you need an early start special arrangements can easily be made.
